Change the Ownership of Your CD Domain - gTLD

IMPORTANT. This is only applicable for gTLDs or generic top-level domains (domain extension with 3 or more characters, e.g. .com, .net, .org, .online, .xyz).

For other TLDs, read this guide: Change the Ownership of Your CD Domain.

According to ICANN regulations, modifying the Organization Name, First Name, Last Name, or Email Address is treated as a domain ownership change and requires approval. To update your gTLD domain’s registrant information, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to your Domain Manager
  2. Click on the Administration tab.
  3. Click on the Registrant Contact row and click Change Owner
  4. Update the necessary registrant details (Business Name or Business Number, First and Last Name, Email Address).
  5. Click on Save Changes. This opens the Authorization screen.
  6. Click on Send Authorization Request
    • No changes to the registrant email. The verification email will be sent to the existing registrant email.
    • The registrant email has been changed. The verification email will be sent to both emails (previous and new registrant emails).
  7. Access the registrant email to approve the changes (both previous and new if the registrant email address is changed).

No access to the existing registrant email

If you can't approve or confirm the changes because you don't have access to the existing registrant email address, you can request our Customer Support team to update it for you through our Domain Access Recovery process.
